The invention relates to a multipoint control system such as may be used for controlling lifting jacks for lifting whole railway cars at a time. Particular features of the present invention are that a remote controller (24) is provided in a hand-held remote control unit. Local controllers (21) are provided associated with jacks (25). Each local controller (21) is an intelligent controller and has a plug and socket arrangement to which the remote controller (24) may be attached. In such a way, the remote controller (24) may be plugged in at any part of the network to control and synchronise operations of all of the jacks (25). Local controllers are all interlinked by a serial data link network which cuts down dramatically on the wiring required. A further distinctive feature of the system is that it is fail safe so that if communication between any of the elements should break down or if any element malfunctions, the system will automatically bring itself to a halt.
La présente invention a trait à un système de commande multipoint qui peut être utilisé pour commander des vérins de levage destinés à soulever des wagons entiers en une seule fois. L'invention se distingue par la présence d'un dispositif de télécommande (24) placé dans une unité de télécommande portative. On dispose également de dispositifs de commande locaux (21) associés à des vérins (25). Chaque dispositif de commande local (21) est un dispositif intelligent qui comporte un mécanisme incluant un bouchon mâle et un manchon auquel le dispositif de commande (24) peut être relié. De cette façon, le dispositif de commande (24) peut être branché à n'importe quelle partie du réseau afin de commander et de synchroniser les manoeuvres de tous les vérins (25). Tous les dispositifs de commande locaux sont reliés les uns aux autres par un réseau de liaison de données en série qui permet de faire des économies importantes sur les câblages généralement requis. De plus, ce système est protégé en cas de défaillance de sorte que si la communication s'interrompt entre certains éléments, ou encore si des éléments sont défectueux, le système s'arrête automatiquement.
