A paper machine for manufacturing textured soft paper comprises a press section with a press nip, through which an impermeable belt and a felt run with the fibrous web between them, a drying cylinder and a transfer roll forming a nip for transfer of the web to the drying cylinder. Smooth impermeable belts ride less of the web over longer distances, and do not facilitate web transfer to a smooth roll. The impermeable belt is a texturing belt with a web-contacting layer having depressions and surface portions forming a relief pattern in the web, the texturing belt running from the press to the drying cylinder carrying the textured web to the transfer nip. The felt runs away from the texturing belt before a water film formed in the press nip breaks up. Adhesive is applied on the drying cylinder before the transferring.
L'invention concerne une machine à papier servant à fabriquer du papier doux texturé. La machine comprend une partie presse avec une ligne de contact à travers laquelle passent une bande imperméable et un feutre entre lesquels est placé un tissu fibreux, un cylindre sécheur et un rouleau de transfert formant une ligne de contact par laquelle le tissu passe dans le cylindre sécheur. Selon cette invention, la bande se présente comme une bande de texturage possédant une couche de fond et une couche en contact avec le tissu, qui comporte des enfoncements; des parties de surface, situées entre ces deux couches, permettent de former sur le tissu un motif en relief à mesure que le tissu passe par la ligne de contact. La bande de texturage, qui va de la presse au cylindre séchoir, déplace le tissu texturé à destination de la ligne de contact où se fait le transfert. Le feutre s'éloigne de la bande de texturage avant qu'un film d'eau formé sur la ligne de contact de la presse ne se disloque. Un dispositif placé en aval de ligne de contact où se fait le transfert sert à appliquer de la colle sur le cylindre séchoir.
