We describe solid delivery systems for release of aroma ingredients, comprising an extrusion formed matrix containing an effective amount of substantially hydrophilic aroma material. These systems are useful for flavoring consumer products. Extruded solid Furaneol~ (origin: Firmenich SA, Geneva, Switzerland), and derivatives having a content of up to 40 % by weight of the latter, are disclosed.
