IN THE CANADIAN PATENT AND TRADEMARK OFFICE PATENT APPLICATION entitled: Assay kit and method applicable to whole cells in the name of: Dominique CARRIERE Assignee: SANOFI ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to a kit for assaying the surface receptors characteristic of a cell population or subpopulation, said kit comprising the following components: a) a solid support to which one or more mono- clonal antibodies are fixed by covalent bonding or by physical adsorption, said monoclonal antibodies being directed against surface antigens of the cell population to be assayed; and b) a solution containing the ligand specific for the membrane receptor of the cell population or sub- population to be assayed, said ligand being labeled with a radioisotopic probe. It further relates to a method of assaying the surface receptors of a cell population or subpopulation. The assay kit and the method according to the invention can be used for assaying the subpopulation of activated T lymphocytes carrying the interleukin-2 receptor.
