A container made by reheat stretch blow molding process comprises a poly(ethylene terephthalate) copolymer including levels of diethylene glycol lower than that generated as a byproduct in conventional resin manufacturing process and minor amounts of naphthalenedicarboxylic acid resulting in containers which exhibit enhanced mechanical properties. Methods for making the contains and hot filling the containers are also disclosed.

L'invention concerne un contenant fabriqué par un procédé de moulage par soufflage avec étirage après réchauffage. Ledit contenant comprend un copolymère de poly(éthylène térephtalate) présentant des niveaux de diéthylène glycol inférieurs à ceux générés en tant que sous-produit dans un procédé de fabrication de résine classique et des quantités moindres d'acide naphthalènedicarboxylique, ce qui permet d'obtenir des contenants qui présentent des propriétés mécaniques améliorées. L'invention concerne également des procédés de fabrication desdits contenants et de remplissage à chaud desdits contenants.
