A two-piece anterior chamber artificial intraocular lens (1) for treating high myopia conditions by implantation in an eye after extracapsular removal of the natural eye lens, is disclosed. The lens includes a lens body or optic (2), and a separate ring shaped tension frame (12) therefor, containing light masking means for inhibiting light rays directed toward the outer edge portions of the lens body from being scattered thereby toward the retina after the assembled lens has been inserted into the eye. The lens body or optic (2) is generally smaller than the diameter of a pupil dilated for night vision, and is surrounded by a snugly fitting annular opaque or semi-opaque ring or frame (12) having a C-shaped cross section (12'), and a peripherally extending fin (12") of the same material. The fin (12") is preferably formed of flexible material which is bent during insertion to allow insertion of the two-piece assembly through a minimal size corneal incision. The lens (1) is also provided with position fixation means, such as haptic (3, 4), which are integrally formed with the lens body (2), and extend outward in the generally horizontal plane of the lens body for seating the lens in the eye. The ring shaped frame (12) is preferably mated with the lens during manufacturing.
L'invention concerne un cristallin intraoculaire artificiel (1) de chambre antérieure à deux pièces destiné à traiter des états de forte myopie par implantation dans l'oeil après retrait extra-capsulaire du cristallin naturel de l'oeil. Le cristallin comprend un corps ou un élément optique (2), et son cadre de tension (12) séparé de forme annulaire, contenant un moyen de masquage de la lumière destiné à empêcher que des rayons de lumière dirigés vers les parties de bordure extérieure du corps du cristallin ne soient ainsi diffusées vers la rétine après l'insertion dans l'oeil du cristallin assemblé. Le corps du cristallin ou élément optique (2) est, d'une manière générale, plus petit que le diamètre d'une pupille dilatée pour une vision de nuit, et il est entouré par un anneau ou un cadre (12) annulaire opaque ou semi-opaque affleuré ayant une section en forme de C (12') et une ailette périphérique (12") constituée de la même matière. L'ailette (12") est de préférence constituée d'une matière flexible, laquelle est pliée pendant l'insertion afin de permettre une insertion de l'ensemble à deux pièces à travers une incision cornéenne de taille minimale. Le cristallin (1) est également doté de moyens de fixation de position, tels que des haptiques (3, 4), lesquels sont solidaires du corps (2) du cristallin, et s'étendent à l'extérieur dans un plan général horizontal du corps du cristallin afin d'asseoir le cristallin dans l'oeil. Le cadre annulaire (12) est de préférence adapté au cristallin pendant la fabrication.
