An extension of an inverse inference search engine (Fig. 1) provides cross language document retrieval, in which the information matrix (52) used as input to the inverse inference engine is organized into rows of blocks (58) corresponding to languages within a predetermined set of natural languages. The information matrix (52) is organized into two column-wise partitions (60). The first partition consists of blocks of entries representing fully translated documents, while the second partition is a matrix of blocks of entries representing documents for which translations are not available in all of the predetermined languages.

L'invention concerne une extension d'un moteur de recherche d'inférences inverses (fig. 1) qui engendre une extraction croisée de documents de langages, dans laquelle la matrice d'informations (52) utilisée comme entrée du moteur d'inférences inverses est organisée en rangées de blocs correspondant aux langages au sein d'un ensemble prédéterminé de langages naturels. La matrice d'informations (52) est organisée en deux partitions de colonnes (60). La première partition comprend des blocs d'entrées représentant des documents entièrement traduits, tandis que la seconde partition est une matrice de blocs d'entrées représentant des documents, pour lesquels des traductions ne sont pas disponibles dans tous les langages prédéterminés.
