A flushable and dispersible interlabial absorbent structure is described. The absorbent structure comprises a liquid pervious topsheet which preferably comprises a wet laid, apertured fibrous web having a temporary wet strength resin incorporated therein, the topsheet also having a body surface provided with a plurality of fibrils, the fibrils comprising a water resistant resinous material, a backsheet impervious to bodily fluids which preferably comprises a wet laid fibrous assembly having a temporary wet strength resin incorporated therein, the body surface of the backsheet being coated with a water resistant resinous material, an absorbent core positioned between the topsheet and the backsheet, and means for removably attaching the interlabial absorbent structure to a wearer's undergarment. The topsheet and the backsheet are joined, at least about their periphery, using a water soluble adhesive. Alternative embodiments of the present invention can also comprise more conventional materials.
Cette invention concerne une structure absorbante interlabiale qui est dispersible dans l'eau et qui peut être jetée dans les toilettes. Cette structure absorbante comprend une couche supérieure perméable aux liquides, laquelle comprend de préférence un voile fibreux et ajouré obtenu au mouillé et dans lequel est incorporée une résine possédant une résistance temporaire à l'humidité. La surface du corps de la couche supérieure possède plusieurs fibrilles qui comprennent une matière résineuse résistant à l'eau. Cette structure absorbante comprend également une couche inférieure qui est imperméable aux fluides corporels, laquelle couche comprend de préférence un système fibreux obtenu au mouillé et auquel est incorporée une résine possédant une résistance temporaire à l'humidité. La surface du corps de la couche inférieure est revêtue d'une matière résineuse résistant à l'eau. Un noyau absorbant est disposé entre les couches supérieure et inférieure, tandis qu'un système de fixation amovible permet de fixer la structure absorbante interlabiale aux sous-vêtements d'une personne. Les couches supérieure et inférieure sont jointes sur toute leur périphérie, au moins, à l'aide d'un adhésif soluble dans l'eau. Dans d'autres modes de réalisation, cette invention peut également faire appel à des matières plus traditionnelles.
