A method for achieving adhesion between an adhesive composition and a non-polar polyolefinic elastomer. The adhesive composition is based on a chlorosulfonated polyolefin having a chlorine content between about 5 and 30 percent. The adhesive composition is contacted with the surface of the non-polar polyolefinic elastomer at an elevated temperature so as to effect adhesion. The specific chlorine content of the chlorosulfonated polyolefins allows them to be utilized effectively without relying on traditional aromatic nitroso compounds or their precursors.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour réaliser l'adhésion entre une composition adhésive et un élastomère polyoléfinique non polaire. La composition adhésive est basée sur une polyoléfine chlorosulfonée ayant une teneur en chlore entre environ 5 et 30 %. La composition adhésive est mise en contact avec la surface de l'élastomère polyoléfinique non polaire à une température élevée pour réaliser l'adhésion. La teneur spécifique en chlore des polyoléfines chlorosulfonées permet de les utiliser efficacement sans recourir aux composés nitroso aromatiques conventionnels ou à leurs précurseurs.
