ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A therapeutic pressure device has a handle from which a leg extends, the leg carrying a pressure foot at its end remote from the handle. The foot is mounted on one end of a longitudinally slidable rod within the leg, and the other end of the rod bears against a pressure transducer which generates an electricalsignal which is a function of the force with which the rod bears against the transducer. The generated signal is used to determine a read-out which is a function of the instantaneous force applied against the foot. In a preferred form, a first audible signal is generated when the amount of force exerted on the foot is less than a pre-set value, and a second audible signal is produced when the amount of force is equal to or greater than that pre-set value.
