The invention concerns a method for preparing a lactic acid ester composition based on a lactic acid composition comprising a step which consists in transforming said composition into a lactic acid oligomeric composition having a mean degree of polymerisation (DPM) ranging between 2 and 30 approximately; a step which consists in mixing and reacting said oligomeric composition with an alcohol, in the presence of a transesterification catalyst, to esterify all or part of the lactic acid contained in said oligomeric composition. The invention also concerns the use of ethyl lactate as solvent for preparing gelified compositions.

L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation d'une composition d'ester d'acide lactique à partir d'une composition d'acide lactique comprenant une étape de transformation de ladite composition en une composition oligomérique d'acide lactique présentant un degré de polymérisation moyen (DPM) compris entre 2 et 30 environ, une étape de mélange et de réaction de ladite composition oligomérique avec un alcool, en présence d'un catalyseur de transestérification, en vue d'estérifier tout ou partie de l'acide lactique contenu dans ladite composition oligomérique. Elle concerne encore l'utilisation de lactate d'éthyle en tant que solvant pour la préparation de compositions gélifiées.
