A simple and economical device is placed in a drill string to provide a pulsating flow of the presserized drilling fluid to the jets of the drill bit to enhance chip removal and provide a vibrating action in the drilling itself thereby to provide a more efficient and effective drilling operation. Operation of the device is such that a pronounced negative pulse precedes the positive pulse. Between pulses there is a short time delay and this feature will further enhance drilling rates. Device automatically bypasses all fluid if it is disabled.
Un dispositif simple et économique est placé dans un train de tiges de forage pour fournir un débit pulsé de fluide de forage sous pression aux orifices de l'outil de forage afin d'améliorer l'élimination des débris de forage et d'imprimer des vibrations dans le forage lui-même et, par ce moyen, de rendre les travaux de forage plus efficaces et efficients. Le fonctionnement du dispositif est ainsi fait qu'une forte impulsion négative précède l'impulsion positive. Entre les impulsions, il y a un court délai et cette caractéristique permet d'améliorer davantage les vitesses d'avancement. le dispositif met automatiquement en dérivation tout le fluide lorsqu'il est mis hors de service.
