A method is provided for inhibiting formation of a biofilm of bacteria, the method including contacting the bacteria with an effective amount of at least one zinc chelator, wherein the bacteria contain at least one zinc adhesion module, whereby formation of the biofilm is inhibited. A method for inhibiting biofilm formation on a device and a topical pharmaceutical composition for the inhibition of biofilm formation are also provided.

Procédé permettant d'inhiber la formation d'un biofilm de bactéries, qui consiste à mettre les bactéries en contact avec une dose efficace d'au moins un chélateur de zinc. Les bactéries contiennent au moins un module d'adhésion du zinc, ce qui empêcher la formation du biofilm. L'invention concerne également un procédé d'inhibition d la formation d'un biofilm sur un dispositif et une composition pharmaceutique topique inhibant la formation d'un tel film.
