A roller skate of the in-line type comprising a shoe of which the sole is associated with an upper plate of a frame on which are arranged the rollers capable of cooperating with decelerating means which can be actuated by the skater, characterized in that said means are comprised of a relatively flexible friction element (13) which extends above at least one of the rollers (6), between an anchoring point (14, 30) situated in front of the roller and actuation means (15) situated at the back and which are capable of causing by excerting a traction or pressure force on said friction element (13), the displacement of the later in a radial direction with respect to the tread of the roller (6) with which it comes in contact in order to decelerate said roller, proportionnally to the force (F) applied by the skater on the actuation means (15).
Patin du type à roues en ligne comportant une chaussure dont la semelle est associée à une platine supérieure d'un châssis sur lequel sont disposées les roues de patinage susceptibles de coopérer avec des moyens de ralentissement mis en oeuvre à l'initiative du patineur, caractérisé en ce que lesdits moyens sont constitués par un élément de friction (13) relativement souple s'étendant au-dessus d'au moins l'une des roues (6), entre un point d'ancrage (14, 30) situé à l'avant de celle-ci et des moyens d'actionnement (15) situés vers l'arrière et qui sont aptes à provoquer, sous l'effet d'une force de traction ou de pression sur ledit élément de friction (13), son déplacement dans une direction radiale par rapport à une bande de roulement de la roue (6) avec laquelle il vient en contact pour assurer son ralentissement, proportionnellement à la force (F) appliquée par le patineur sur les moyens d'actionnement (15).
