Apparatus for measuring the amount of particulate matter in a gas having a gas supply, a first particulate matter collector downstream of the gas supply and in gaseous communication with the gas supply, and a second particulate matter collector downstream of the gas supply and in gaseous communication with the gas supply. Gas from the gas supply to the second particulate matter collector is passed through a particle remover to remove particulate matter prior to contact of gas from the gas supply with the second particulate matter collector. A pressure sensor is provided to measure differential pressure between the first particulate matter collector and the second particulate matter collector, and at least one pump to cause gas to pass from the gas supply to the first particulate matter collector and the second particulate matter collector.
La présente invention décrit un appareil permettant de mesurer la quantité de matières particulaires contenues dans un gaz. Cet appareil comprend un dispostif d'alimentation en gaz, un premier collecteur de matières particulaires situé en aval du dispositif d'alimentation et un deuxième collecteur de matières particulaires situé lui aussi en aval, ces collecteurs étant tous deux en communication gazeuse avec le dispositif. Le gaz envoyé par le dispositif d'alimentation au deuxième collecteur de matières particulaires passe dans un extracteur de particules chargé d'extraire la matière particulaire avant que le gaz provenant du dispositif d'alimentation pénètre dans le deuxième collecteur. L'appareil comprend également un capteur de pression servant à mesurer la pression différentielle entre le premier collecteur et le deuxième et au moins une pompe qui oblige le gaz provenant du dispositif d'alimentation à passer par les deux collecteurs de matières particulaires.
