There is disclosed a mounting apparatus for mounting a germicidal system in a vehicle. The germicidal system may comprise a lamp having a stem. The mounting apparatus may comprise a clasp for supporting the stem. The clasp may be adapted to affix to a member of a vehicle. The mounting apparatus may comprise a dampener for reducing an effect selected from the group comprising vibration and shock. The dampener may abut the clasp. The dampener may be adapted to abut the member of the vehicle. The mounting apparatus serves to reduce the vibration/shock transmitted to the germicidal system by the vehicle when moving to improve the life of the lamp.
