A high VI and low pour point lubricant base stock is made by hydroisomerizing a high purity, waxy, paraffinic Fischer-Tropsch synthesized hydrocarbon fraction having an initial boiling point in the range of 343-399°C (650- 750°F), followed by catalytically dewaxing the hydroisomerate using a dewaxing catalyst comprising a catalytic platinum component and an H-mordenite component. The hydrocarbon fraction is preferably synthesized by a slurry Fischer-Tropsch using a catalyst containing a catalytic cobalt component. This combination of the process, high purity, waxy paraffinic feed and the Pt/H-mordenite dewaxing catalyst, produce a relatively high yield of premium lubricant base stock.
L'invention concerne une huile de base lubrifiante à point d'écoulement bas et à index de viscosité élevé. On fabrique cette huile par hydroisomérisation d'une fraction d'hydrocarbure obtenue par synthèse Fischer-Tropsch, paraffineuse, paraffinique, de grande pureté, dont le point d'ébullition initial varie entre 650-750 DEG F, puis par déparaffinage catalytique de l'hydroisomère au moyen d'un catalyseur de déparaffinage contenant un composé de platine catalytique et un composé de H-mordénite. La fraction d'hydrocarbure est synthétisée de préférence par un procédé Fischer-Tropsch en suspension épaisse au moyen d'un catalyseur contenant un composé de cobalt catalytique. On obtient une huile de base lubrifiante de première qualité avec un rendement relativement élevé, en combinant la charge traitée, paraffineuse, paraffinique, de grande pureté, au catalyseur de déparaffinage à base Pt/H-mordénite.
