Therapeutical use is described of L-carnitine, some alkanoyl L-carnitines and the pharmacologically acceptable salts thereof in combination with hydrophilic antioxidants or lipophilic antioxidants or derivatives thereof or natural products containing said substances for the prevention and treatment of deseases of the central nervous system such as parkinsonism, trauma, cerebral palsy, diabetic neuropathy; of the peripheral nervous system such as diabetic peripheral neuropathy and traumatic nerve damage; of the cardiovascular system such as stroke ischaemic-reperfuson damage and intermittent claudication; and immune system abnormalities in conditions of low oxygen tension.
On décrit une utilisation thérapeutique de la L-carnitine, certaines alcanoyl-L-carnitines et les sels pharmacologiquement acceptables de ces dernières, en combinaison avec des antioxydants hydrophiles ou des antioxydants lipophiles ou des dérivés de ces dernières ou des produits naturels contenant lesdites substances pour la prévention et le traitement de maladies du système nerveux central comme la maladie de Parkinson, les traumatismes, l'infirmité motrice cérébrale, la neuropathie diabétique; du système nerveux périphérique comme la neuropathie diabétique périphérique, et les lésions nerveuses traumatiques; du système cardio-vasculaire comme les lésions d'ischémie-reperfusion et la claudication intermittente; et les anomalies du système immunitaire dans les états pathologiques liés à une faible tension en oxygène.
