- 33 - A b s t r a c t Pharmaceutical agents acting antiatherosclerotically containing a compound having the general formula I Image I in which R1 and R2, which can be the same or different, denote a hydrogen atom or a straight-chained or branched alkyl residue with 1 to 4 C atoms, A denotes a straight-chained or branched alkylene chain with 1 to 5 C atoms, X denotes a hydrogen atom or a C1-C4 alkyl residue, and Y denotes a straight-chained or branched alkyl residue with 1 to 5 C atoms, an aralkyl or aryl residue whereby the aryl residue can be substituted once to three times in all possible positions on the ring by halogen, trifluoromethyl, C1-C4 alkyl, amino, C1-C4 acylamino, di(C1-C4) alkylamino or nitro, - 34 - provided that A can also denote valency if Y does not represent an aryl residue, as well as their pharmacologically safe salts, new sulfonamides and processes for their production.
