A higher harmonic generator generates higher harmonics of an audio signal according to the input audio signal having a predetermined band. Next, a multiplier subjects the higher harmonics of the audio signal generated to amplitude modulation according to the band signal having a predetermined band width, thereby generating an amplitude modulation signal. A digital band pass filter band-pass-filters the amplitude modulation signal generated, by using a predetermined band pass characteristic and outputs it as a band extended signal. Furthermore, an adder adds the amplitude modulation signal which has been subjected to the band pass filtration to the aforementioned input audio signal and outputs an audio signal as an addition result including the band extended signal in the audio signal of the original sound.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif permettant d'élargir la plage de fréquences d'un signal audio. Ce procédé consiste tout d'abord à utiliser un générateur d'harmoniques élevées pour produire des harmoniques élevées à partir d'un signal audio fourni possédant une plage de fréquences prédéterminée. Ensuite, un multiplicateur soumet les harmoniques élevées produites à une modulation d'amplitude en fonction de la plage de fréquences prédéterminée du signal, ce qui permet d'obtenir un signal à modulation d'amplitude. Le procédé consiste, par la suite, à filtrer ce signal à modulation d'amplitude dans un passe-bande utilisant une caractéristique prédéterminée, pour produire un signal dont la plage de fréquences a été élargie. Par ailleurs, un sommateur permet de mélanger le signal à modulation d'amplitude soumis au filtrage passe-bande au signal audio de départ et d'obtenir ainsi un signal audio composé du signal dont la plage de fréquences a été élargie et du signal audio produisant le son de départ.
