ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Method and apparatus for recovering resources from discarded tires without polluting the environment. First of all, discarded tires are collected in an tyre-loading unit, which is then conveniently loaded into a hermetic casing with a foldable wheeling system, with the help of a rail in the hermetic casing. The hermetic casing has a wheeling system similar to that of tyre-loading unit so the former is easily wheeled into the heating shell of the heat-treatment unit. The tires inside the heating shell must be completely isolated from the air using hermetic and vacuuming devices before heating is begun. A heat-treatment unit with a heater mounted either externally or internally to the heating shell heats the loaded tires so they decompose in the absence of oxygen; a pollutant-treatment unit filters and purifies the pollutants produced during the heating process, thereby minimizing pollution. The hermetic casing is heated to 450 °C for about 1.5 hours until decomposition of the tires is complete. Afterwards, tar collected in the storage tank can be directly transferred for recycling; black ash and steel wool can be recovered from the frame of the tyre-loading unit. The black ash and steel wool can be easily separated manually for further treatment.
