The method relates to describing an electromagnetic signal generated by eddy currents in a conductive material. The electromagnetic signal V(t) is described by at least one product of two factors F and G(t), where F is a function of the geometry of the material and the electrical and magnetic properties of the material, and where G(t) is a function of the geometry of the material, the electrical and magnetic properties of the material, the thickness perpendicular to the surface of the material and time. The method can be extended to a method for determining material properties of an object.

Ce procédé sert à décrire un signal électromagnétique produit par des courants de Foucault dans un matériau conducteur. Le signal électromagnétique V(t) est décrit au moins par un produit de deux facteurs F et G(t), où F est fonction de la géométrie du matériau et des propriétés électriques et magnétiques de celui-ci, et G(t) est fonction de la géométrie du matériau, des propriétés électriques et magnétiques de celui-ci, de l'épaisseur perpendiculaire à la surface du matériau et du temps. On peut appliquer également ce procédé à un processus de détermination des propriétés de la matière d'un objet.
