A pitch-containing refractory raw material (1) comprising pitch particles (2) having a softening point of 70 to 200~C and a particle size of 30 µm or smaller carried on the surfaces of refractory raw material particles (3) having a particle size of 50 µm or smaller. In the pitch-containing refractory raw material (1), the pitch particles are hardly aggregated to get hard even when the material (1) is stored for a prolonged period of time. Therefore, the material (1) can be used in the form of microparticles on every occasions. When the material (1) is used as a part of the raw materials in the manufacture of a carbon-containing refractory, the pitch can be dispersed uniformly in the form of microparticles during mixing or kneading. The finished carbon-containing refractory shows a significantly high corrosion resistance. The refractory can be also prevented from increasing in Young~s modulus while retaining a satisfactory strength level, and can show an extremely excellent thermal spolling resistance even when the carbon content is low.
L~invention concerne une matière première réfractaire contenant de la poix (1) comprenant des particules de poix (2) ayant un point de ramollissement de 70 à 200°C et une taille particulaire inférieure ou égale à 30 µm à la surface de particules de matière première réfractaire (3) d~une taille particulaire inférieure ou égale à 50 µm. Dans la matière première réfractaire contenant de la poix (1), les particules de poix s~agrègent à peine pour durcir même en cas de stockage prolongé de la matière (1). C~est la raison pour laquelle on peut utiliser la matière (1) sous forme de microparticules en toute occasion. Si l~on utilise la matière (1) comme matière première dans la fabrication d~un réfractaire contenant du carbone, on peut disperser la poix de manière uniforme sous forme de microparticules pendant le mélange ou le malaxage. Le réfractaire fini contenant du carbone présente une résistance à la corrosion très élevée. Il est possible d~empêcher l~augmentation du module de Young du réfractaire tout en conservant un niveau de résistance satisfaisant et le réfractaire peut présenter une excellente résistance aux attaques thermiques même avec une faible teneur en carbone.
