The invention concerns a method for collective production of microlenses at the tip of an assembly of aligned optical fibres. The invention is characterised in that it consists in heating the tip of all the fibres (F) with an electric arc (A) so as to form the microlenses, the plane wherein the fibre tips are located being distant (d) from the line (X) of the hottest points of the electric arc to round off their tip homogeneously. The invention is useful for making optical and optoelectronic modules.
