An improved system for providing early warning preemptive postal equipment replacement. Selected performance parameters of the postal equipment are monitored and compared against predetermined operational boundaries. The system is capable of prodiving for variability in the performance parameters, wherein these parameters may be permitted to vary over time and usage of the equipment. The monitoring gives an indication of the overall system performance. If the system performance goes outside of operational boundaries, or changes significantly over time, replacement of the equipment can then be scheduled with minimal inconvenience to the customer.
L'invention porte sur un système amélioré visant à effectuer un remplacement préventif d'une machine à affranchir. Des paramètres sélectionnés, relatifs au fonctionnement de la machine à affranchir, font l'objet d'une surveillance et sont comparés à des limites de fonctionnement prédéterminées. Ledit système est capable de tenir compte d'une certaine variabilité des paramètres relatifs au fonctionnement. Ces paramètres peuvent varier dans le temps et selon l'usage qui est fait de la machine à affranchir. La mise sous surveillance donne une indication du fonctionnement global du système. Si le fonctionnement du système n'entre plus dans les limites de fonctionnement, ou s'il varie considérablement dans le temps, le remplacement de la machine à affranchir peut alors être programmé sans causer au client de désagréments importants.
