A closure (20) is provided for an opening to a container interior. The closure has a base (24) for attachment to the container at the opening and defines a discharge aperture (40) communicating with the opening. A lid (50) is hingedly connected to the base for movement between a closed position occluding the aperture and an open position away from the aperture. A manually releasable latch (70, 86) is defined cooperatively by the base and lid to hold the lid closed. The lid has an outwardly projecting engaging member (65) whereby the user can release the latch and apply a force to the member to lift the lid via the member.
