This device provides a convenient, clean and hands free process of disposing garbage. A battery powered garbage bin, where the lid of the bin may automatically open through the use of an infrared sensor. Once the garbage bin senses that there is an object/person that has approached the garbage bin from at least one foot above the bin the lid will automatically open and within six seconds of no longer senses anyone or anything above the bin it will close. If the infrared senses that there is something still above the garbage bine while it is open, it will not shut until six seconds after the infrared sensor detects no more movement or presence above the bin. To open the lid, simply wave your hand or any other object within the lids range and it will quickly open automatically. The garbage bin requires four "D" batteries. The garbage bin's power is controlled by an on/off switch that is located on the back of the lid base. Turn the garbage bin on by flicking the switch on at the back of the lid's base. A red light will appear from the sensor indicators that are located on the front of the lid base (just under the lid) for three seconds and then flash every two seconds to indicate that the garbage bin has power. Another option is to open the garbage bin manually by simply pressing the open button located in the front of the lid and to close the lid by pressing the close button. Pressing the close button a second time will reset the garbage bin into automatic mode. The garbage bin must have the power switch on in order to operate on either settings.
