An electrical current flow indicator is provided which is connectable between a power source and a load, such as a block heater. The indicator indicates whether electrical current is in fact being drawn by the load. The indicator comprises a first and second wires, and an indicating light and a transistor which are connected in series and shunted across between the first wire and the second wire. The indicating light is connected to the collector of the transistor. The base and emitter of the transistor are connected to the second wire on the opposite sides of a resistor which is connected in series with the second wire. The transistor is turned on when current flows to the block heater through the indicator, resulting in turning on the indicating light.
