The present invention relates to a fibre-application method and a machine intended for the production of parts made from composite material, in particular for applying a fiber web onto convex and/or ridged surfaces. The machine includes a fiber application head and a system (5) for moving said application head. The application head includes a compacting system comprising a compacting roller (2) intended to come into contact with the application surface (90) so as to apply the web and a compacting member (3, 103, 203) placed downstream from said compacting roller and having a substantially planar contact surface (32), whereby the contact surface of the compacting member can be applied against an application surface over substantially the entire width of a web along at least one contact line.

La présente invention concerne un procédé et une machine d'application de fibres pour la réalisation de pièces en matériaux composites, notamment pour l'application d'une bande de fibres sur des surfaces convexes et/ou avec des arêtes. La machine comprend une tête d'application de fibres et un système de déplacement (5) de ladite tête d'application. La tête d'application comprend un système de compactage comportant un rouleau de compactage (2) destiné à venir en contact contre la surface d'application (90) pour appliquer la bande, et un organe de compactage (3, 103, 203) disposé en aval dudit rouleau de compactage et présentant une surface de contact (32) sensiblement plane, ledit organe de compactage étant apte à être amené en appui par sa surface de contact, contre une surface d'application, sur sensiblement toute la largeur d'une bande, selon au moins une ligne de contact.
