Surface coating method for applying a chemically bonded ceramic coating on a sub-strate, comprising the steps of preparing a powder mixture based on a hydraulic ceramic binder phase, preparing a substrate surface, applying at least one layer of the powder mixture on the substrate, and finally hydrating the powder layer/layers by addition of a water-based solution. The present invention method can be applied without using elevated temperatures, complicated and complex equipment, while maintaining control over the microstructure of the coating. The inventive procedure can suitably be used for producing general orthopaedic and dental implants. The inventive coatings can also be used in microstructure technology applications or in wear and friction applications.
L'invention concerne un procédé de revêtement de surface permettant d'appliquer sur un substrat un revêtement céramique lié chimiquement. Les étapes de ce procédé consistent à préparer un mélange de poudre formé d'une phase liante de céramique hydraulique, à préparer une surface du substrat, à appliquer au moins une couche du mélange de poudre sur le substrat, puis à hydrater la/les couche(s) de poudre par adjonction d'une solution aqueuse. Le procédé décrit peut être appliqué sans recourir à des températures élevées, ou à un matériel compliqué et complexe, et permet de diriger la microstructure du revêtement. Ce procédé est indiqué pour la production d'implants orthopédiques et dentaires généraux. Les revêtements décrits peuvent également être utilisés dans des applications de technologie des microstructures, ou dans des applications d'usure et de frottement.
