There is provided a weather strip sealing arrangement for a sliding panel which has a bottom sash designed for sliding engagement with a base, the arrangement including a sealing member mounted on the base adjacent an exterior vertical surface of the bottom sash, the sealing member having an upper surface sloping away from the bottom sash and a sealing element extending outwardly to seal against the exterior vertical surface of the bottom sash, and a cleaning member having a blade portion means extending outwardly from the bottom sash, the blade portion having a downwardly extending edge angled at an angle substantially equal to the angle of the upper surface of the sealing member such that when the sliding panel is slid from one position to another, the blade portion can remove material on the upper surface of the sealing member.
