The present invention provides a method for preventing and/or treating subjects with acute renal failure caused by a variety of conditions. The method comprises administering to the subject soluble thrombomodulin which does not activate Protein C. In conjunction with standard of care, soluble thrombomodulin that does not activate Protein C will prevent or reduce acute kidney injury and subsequent morbidity and mortality.
La présente invention concerne un procédé de prévention et/ou de traitement de sujets atteints d'une insuffisance rénale aiguë provoquée par une variété d'affections. Le procédé comporte l'administration au sujet de thrombomoduline soluble qui n'active pas la protéine C. Utilise en conjonction au traitement habituel, la thrombomoduline soluble qui n'active pas la protéine C prévient ou réduit les lésions aiguës du rein et permet de diminuer le taux de morbidité et de mortalité.
