A method of replacing a damaged portion (10) of a wall (10a) of a coke oven (30), the coke oven wall (10a) having a height h and a length /, the damaged coke oven wall portion (10) having a height h and a length I 1, comprises removing the damaged wall portion (10) from the coke oven (30), casting, outside of the oven 30, a replacement wall section having a length equal to the length I 1 of the damaged coke oven wall portion (10) and a height equal to the height h of the damaged coke oven wall portion (10), and positioning, inside the coke oven (30), the replacement wall section.
