Four and a half to five foot modern bathtubs of the kind found in most homes in North America are designed to hold an adequate volume or water for bathing while in a sitting position. Bathing while immersed in water in a supineposition has been found to be uncomfortable for most people due to the inadequate spinal support of the bathtub. Because of this lack of spinal support of the interior design configuration of the four and a half to five foot modern bathtub, a need for body support devices has been desired. Existing bath support devices of the type used with modern four and a half to five foot bathtubs have been inflatable neck and head supports or extendable boards or trays enabling support of the head and neck for shampooing or washing.
