The present invention concerns a rapid and easy in vitro method of diagnosing an analyte in a sample obtained from a subject, without the need of any sophisticated equipment. The method of the invention comprises in general detection of an analyte in a fluid sample, the method comprising mixing the fluid sample with a reagent comprising a capturing agent which is a first member of a binding couple that can bind to an analyte, the analyte being a second member of the binding couple, such that if the analyte is present in the fluid sample, particulates of the binding couple are formed; treating said mixture so as to form on a solid substrate a thin layer of said particulates, if formed as a result of said mixing; obtaining an optical image of the thin layer; and analyzing said optical image so as to determine therefrom the absence or presence of particulates formed as a result of the association between the binding couple, the presence of particulates in the sample indicating the presence of said analyte in the sample; or to determine from said image at least one parameter of said particulates.

L'invention concerne une méthode rapide et facile permettant de diagnostiquer in vitro un analyte dans un échantillon provenant d'un sujet sans avoir recours à un équipement sophistiqué quelconque. Ladite méthode de détection d'analyte consiste, de manière générale, à mélanger l'échantillon fluidique avec un réactif renfermant un agent de capture qui constitue un premier élément d'un couple de liaison pouvant se fixer à l'analyte, cet analyte constituant un second élément du couple de liaison, de sorte que lorsque ledit analyte est présent dans l'échantillon fluidique, des particules du couple de liaison sont formées; à traiter ledit mélange de façon à former, sur un substrat solide, une couche mince de particules, lorsque celles-ci sont le résultat du mélange; à obtenir une image optique de la couche mince; et à analyser cette image optique de façon à déterminer la présence ou l'absence de particules formées comme résultat de l'association avec le couple de liaison, la présence de particules dans l'échantillon fluidique indiquant la présence de l'analyte dans cet échantillon; ou à déterminer à partir de ladite image au moins un paramètre desdites particules.
