A cooking grill device is used for cooking over a fire, for example an open fire including campfires and the like. A post having a ground penetrating end is first inserted into the ground. A grilling surface is then selectively supported by a post mount on the post to span transversely to a longitudinal direction of the post at any one of various heights and orientations relative to the post.
