A radio resource management (RRM) entity which increases the capacity of a mesh network including a plurality of mesh points (MPs) and a plurality of mesh portals is disclosed. A discovery phase is performed in the mesh network such that, for each MP, the mesh network has access to information which provides a ranking of the available mesh portals and MP next-hops, and related routing metrics for each individual MP in the mesh network. A preferred mesh portal is assigned to each of the MPs in the mesh network. Each MP scans, collects, and reports channel-based measurements of all available channels. Channels are assigned to each of the mesh portals. Channels are also sequentially assigned to the MPs.
L'invention concerne une entité de gestion de ressources (RRM) qui permet d'augmenter la capacité d'un réseau maillé comprenant une pluralité de points de maillage (MP) et une pluralité de portails de maillage. On exécute une phase de découverte dans le réseau maillé de sorte que, pour chaque MP, ledit réseau maillé accède à des informations qui fournissent un classement des portails de maillage disponibles et des sauts de MP suivants, et une métrique de routage correspondant à chaque MP individuel du réseau de maillage. Un portail de maillage préféré est affecté à chacun des MP du réseau maillé. Chaque MP peut balayer, collecter et faire un compte rendu de mesures basées sur des canaux de tous les canaux disponibles. Des canaux sont affectés à chacun des portails de maillage, des canaux étant également affectés séquentiellement aux MP.
