Abstract In order to adjust the tension of the paper in a printing and/or die-cutting machine for the production of commercial continuous forms, there are utilized: - two drive rollers for moving the paper tape, one at the inlet and the other at the outlet of a controlled paper stretch which is provided downstream of the last paper transformation group and upstream of the rewinder, each of said rollers being associated to a mobile anti-slipping grip wheel; - two idle rollers, respectively downstream/upstream and in the vicinity of the first/second one of said drive rollers for defining two corresponding horizontal stretches of paper; - a plurality of paper-transmission rollers, distributed respectively downstream/upstream of said first/second horizontal stretch of paper, for determining a meandering paper path of preset length and with at least one of said transmission rollers being movable between a position of maximum tension in the paper and a position of lack of tension in the paper; - means for detecting the punched hole along the edges of the paper tape, disposed in correspondence of said horizontal stretches of paper, whose detected values are compared, by a microprocessor, with the reference values corresponding to the preset length of said meandering path and the obtained result is transmitted to the means for the adjustment of the paper tension in the printing machine.
