The invention is concerned with a system for modulating an information signal in a telecommunication system. The communication system makes use of spreading codes in the modulation to discriminate between user signals. The codes are allocated for incoming requests by selection from one or more code structures having codes of different bit rates. The system is characterized by the steps of noting the bit rate of a code to be allocated for an incoming request, determination of the availability of the different codes having the desired bit rate, and allocating a code in accordance with pre-selected rules by taking the availability of the different codes into consideration in a way leading to an optimal use of the code structure(s). The apparatus of the invention comprises means for performing the system of the invention. The algorithm of the invention performs the allocation system of the invention in form of a computer program in accordance with certain rules.
La présente invention concerne un système destiné à moduler un signal d'information dans un système de télécommunications. Le système de télécommunications utilise, pour la modulation, un étalement de codes afin d'établir une discrimination entre des signaux utilisateur. Pour des requêtes entrantes, les codes sont attribués par sélection à partir d'une ou de plusieurs structures de codes contenant des codes de débits binaires différents. Le système est caractérisé par les étapes de notation du débit binaire d'un code devant être attribué à une requête entrante, par la détermination de la disponibilité des différents codes possédant le débit binaire recherché, et par l'attribution d'un code selon des règles présélectionnées par prise en considération de la disponibilité des différents codes d'une manière qui mène à une utilisation optimale de la ou des structures de codes. L'appareil de l'invention comprend des moyens permettant de mettre en oeuvre le système de l'invention. L'algorithme de l'invention réalise le système d'attribution sous la forme d'un logiciel en accord avec certaines règles.
