An automated communication system (figure 3) for communicatively connecting a caller by means of a telephone to a space craft includes a port for accepting a telephonic call related to a specific space craft from the caller and having a machine readable call management program, the call management program automatically effecting a telephonic communication to at least one selected ground earth station responsive thereto. The ground earth station effects communication with at least one known satellite in an earth orbit responsive to the received communication from the port. And, the satellite retransmits the ground earth station communications to the space craft for reception by a dedicated receiver in the space craft, thereby establishing a telephonic communications link from the caller to the specific space craft. A method and a program for effecting global communications between a ground station, a plurality of global satellite systems and a space craft are included.

Système de communication automatisé destiné à connecter un appelant avec un vaisseau spatial à l'aide d'un téléphone, qui comporte un port destiné à accepter un appel téléphonique établi par l'appelant vers un vaisseau spatial spécifique, ainsi qu'un programme de gestion d'appels lisible par machine, ledit programme de gestion d'appels établissant automatiquement une communication téléphonique vers au moins une station terrienne au sol sélectionnée répondant à ladite communication. La station terrienne au sol établit la communication avec au moins un satellite connu placé sur orbite autour de la terre et répondant à la communication reçue en provenance du port. Le satellite retransmet les communications provenant de la station terrienne au sol au vaisseau spatial pour réception par un appelé donné se trouvant à bord du vaisseau spatial, une liaison téléphonique étant ainsi établie entre l'appelant et un vaisseau spatial spécifique. Un procédé et un programme permettant de réaliser des communications entre une station terrienne, une pluralité de systèmes satellites en orbite autour de la terre et un vaisseau spatial sont également décrits.
