A method and a simulator device for training a pilot of a vessel (6) in the use of so-called dynamic positioning, called DP, wherein a first distance signal representing a distance between the vessel (6) and a loading buoy or other target (1), is optionally fed directly to a control system (13) for normal DP operation, or wherein the first distance signal is directed by way of a transducer (22) feeding a second distance signal to the control system (13) for simulation. The second distance signal represents another and normally shorter distance than the first distance signal.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un simulateur destinés à l'entraînement du pilote d'un navire (6) dans le cadre de l'utilisation du positionnement dynamique (DP). Selon l'invention, un premier signal de distance représentant une distance entre le navire (6) et une bouée de chargement ou une autre cible (1), est éventuellement transmis directement à un système de commande (13) pour un fonctionnement normal de positionnement dynamique, ou le premier signal de distance est dirigé par l'intermédiaire d'un transducteur (22) transmettant un deuxième signal de distance au système de commande (13) pour la simulation. Le deuxième signal de distance représente une autre distance, normalement inférieure à la première.
