ABSTRACT A combination envelope and message surface blank is provided having an envelope exterior and an interior message surface for letter writing or pre-printed salutations. The blank includes first and second panels extending from a common edge represented by a fold line and each panel has an outer face forming part of the envelope and an inner face forming part of the message surface. Each free edge of each of the two panels includes a portion which may be adhered to a corresponding portion on the other panel to enclose the message surface and to expose the envelope exterior for mailing. Upon receipt, the adhered portions are removed from the envelope by tearing along preformed perforation lines to facilitate opening of the blank. If the blank constitutes an envelope and greeting card, when the envelope is opened, the first and second panels are pivoted about the fold line of the common edge to expose a suitable salutation and the resulting card may be displayed in a conventional manner.
