Provided are a method, system, and program for maintaining data in distributed caches. A copy of an object is maintained in at least one cache, wherein multiple caches may have different versions of the object, and wherein the objects are capable of having modifiable data units. Update information is maintained for each object maintained in each cache, wherein the update information for each object in each cache indicates the object, the cache including the object, and indicates whether each data unit in the object was modified. After receiving a modification to a target data unit in one target object in one target cache, the update information for the target object and target cache is updated to indicate that the target data unit is modified, wherein the update information for the target object in any other cache indicates that the target data unit is not modified.
L'invention concerne un procédé, un système et un programme de maintien de données dans des mémoires caches réparties. Une copie d'un objet est maintenue dans au moins une mémoire cache, plusieurs mémoires caches pouvant avoir des versions différentes de l'objet, les objets pouvant présenter des unités de données modifiables. Des informations de mise à jour sont maintenues pour chaque objet maintenu dans chaque mémoire cache, ces informations de mise à jour indiquant l'objet, la mémoire cache comprenant l'objet, et indiquant si chaque unité de données dans l'objet a été modifiée. Après réception d'une modification d'une unité de données cible dans un objet cible situé dans une mémoire cache cible, les informations de mise à jour associées à l'objet cible et à la mémoire cache cible sont mises à jour afin d'indiquer que l'unité de données cible est modifiée, les informations de mise à jour associées à l'objet cible dans toute autre mémoire cache indiquant que l'unité de données cible n'est pas modifiée.
