The invention concerns the control of male or female taper pipe threads (3) located at the ends of metal tubes for sealed assembly thereof. The method consists in controlling the pitch diameter of threads in a measuring plane (P1) substantially located in the middle of zone containing perfect threads using a planar diameter-measuring apparatus (51) whereas the pitch diameter of threads is conventionally measured by the specification API 5B in the plane (P0) of the last perfect male thread and in comparing the measured pitch diameter of the threads with an estimated value (D1e) calculated from the pitch diameter nominal value in the plane P0, from the distance the distance between P0 and P1 and from a transfer value of the taper, itself a function of the distribution of the taper ratios produced. The invention enables to better estimate the thread interference in the proximity of sealing surfaces (5, 6) and/or bearing surfaces (7, 8), hence the sealing capacity of the assembly.

L'invention concerne le contrôle de filetages coniques mâles (3) ou femelles situés en extrémités de tubes métalliques pour permettre l'assemblage étanche de ceux-ci. Elle consiste à réaliser un contrôle du diamètre primitif des filetages dans un plan de mesure (P1) situé sensiblement au milieu de la zone de filets parfaits à l'aide d'un appareil de mesure plan de diamètre (51) alors que le diamètre primitif des filetages est conventionnellement défini par la spécification API 5B dans le plan (P0) du dernier filet mâle parfait et à comparer le diamètre primitif des filetages mesuré avec une valeur estimée (D1e) calculée à partir de la valeur nominale du diamètre primitif dans le plan P0, de la distance entre P0 et P1 et d'une valeur de report de la conicité, elle-même fonction de la distribution des conicités réalisées. L'invention permet de mieux apprécier l'interférence filetage au voisinage de portées d'étanchéité (5, 6) et/ou de surfaces d'appui (7, 8), donc les performances d'étanchéité de l'assemblage.
