In up-to-date ATM switching systems, information is transmitted in cells by the WEIGHTED FAIR QUEUING SCHEDULING method. In order to be able to use connection sections particularly efficiently, according to the invention the cell streams are prioritized on the basis of this known method. This is achieved in that the weighting factors allocated to a first quantity of cell streams are selected such that they differ very much more than the weighting factors allocated to the remaining quantity of cell streams.

Dans des systèmes d'interconnexion fonctionnant en mode ATM, des données sont transmises dans des cellules selon le procédé dit de "weighted fair queueing scheduling" (=ordonnancement équitable et pondéré par files d'attente). Afin de pouvoir parvenir à une utilisation particulièrement efficace des sections de connexion, on effectue, selon le principe de ce procédé connu, un classement par ordre de priorité des courants de cellules. A cet effet, les facteurs de pondération alloués à une première série de courants de cellules sont sélectionnés de manière nettement plus diversifiée que ne le sont les facteurs de pondération alloués à la série restante de courants de cellules.
