Featured for use in the reaction canister of an inflatable restraint system is a continuous circumference diffuser tube. The diffuser tube may be a one-piece, two-piece or clamshell type all of which functionally are the same although the clamshell type is more versatile. The diffuser tube provides for the attachment of brackets for installation of the reaction canister in the instrument panel of a vehicle, provides a secure reliable attachment for the inflatable bag or protective cushion, and a secure installation of the inflator. The diffuser tube completely encloses the inflator and allows a last operation of assembly thereof.
Conçu pour la chambre à réaction d'un dispositif de retenue gonflable, le système est constitué d'un tube de diffusion à circonférence continue. Le tube de diffusion peut comporter une pièce ou deux ou une double coque fonctionnant de la même manière même si la double coque est plus polyvalente. Le tube peut être muni de supports permettant d'installer la chambre de réaction dans le tableau de bord du véhicule. Elle permet aussi d'installer le sac gonflable ou le coussin protecteur ainsi que le dispositif de gonflage de façon sûre. Le tube, qui renferme complètement le dispositif de gonflage, assure le fonctionnement continue de l'assemblage.
