A mesh network routing protocol for optimizing network data transmission capacity using a cost analysis based upon a links proximity to the gateway or other bandwidth constrained node. Specifically, the protocol computes a plurality of routing costs associated with each data path, compares the routing costs, and then selects the data path associated with the lowest routing cost for the transmission of data. Each link in each of the paths is weighted in view of its proximity to an ingress/egress point to the mesh network or other bandwidth constrained node or link of the network.
L'invention porte sur un protocole de routage de réseau maillé permettant d'optimiser la capacité de transmission de données réseau grâce à une analyse des coûts basée sur une proximité des mailles avec la passerelle ou avec un autre noeud restreint de bande passante. En particulier, le protocole calcule une pluralité de coûts de routage associés à chaque chemin de données, compare les coûts de routage, puis sélectionne le chemin de données associé au coût de routage le plus faible pour la transmission de données. Chaque maille de chaque chemin est pondérée en fonction de sa proximité avec un point d'entrée/sortie du réseau maillé ou avec un autre noeud restreint de bande passante ou avec une autre maille du réseau.
