It is intended to provide a composition for regulating the activity of regulatory T cells and a regulation method. Namely, a composition containing an antigen recognized by CD4+CD25+ regulatory T cells or an expression vector encoding the antigen and a method of regulating an immune response of a mammal by administering the composition to the mammal. Thus, means useful in preventing and treating autoimmune diseases and allergic diseases and inhibiting rejection reaction and graft-versus-host reaction in transplantation is provided. Furthermore, the immunosuppressive state is relieved by administering interferon .gamma. or administering a combination of interleukin 12 with interleukin 18. That is to say, regulatory T cells can be artificially controlled by appropriately combining the action of such a cytokine with the sensitization with SEREX antigen, which is applicable to autoimmune diseases, reactions accompanying organ transplantation, allergic reactions, regulation of tumor immunity and so on.
L'invention vise une composition pour réguler l'activité des cellules T régulatrices, et un procédé de régulation, et nommément une composition contenant un antigène reconnu par les cellules régulatrices CD4?+¿CD25?+¿ ou un vecteur d'expression codant pour l'antigène et un procédé de régulation d'une réponse immunitaire d'un mammifère par l'administration de la composition au mammifère. Cela permet de fournir des moyens utiles en matière de prévention et de traitement des maladies auto-immunes et allergiques ainsi que d'inhiber les réactions de rejet et la réaction greffon / hôte lors des transplantations. En outre, on arrive à soulager l'état immunosuppressif par l'administration de l'interféron .gamma. ou d'une combinaison de l'interleukine 12 et l'interleukine 18. De cette manière, les cellules T régulatrices peuvent être artificiellement contrôlées par une combinaison appropriée de l'action de cette cytokine à la sensibilisation avec l'antigène SEREX, applicable aux maladies auto-immunes, aux réactions accompagnant la transplantation d'organes, aux réactions allergiques, à la régulation de l'immunité des tumeurs, etc.
