A B S T R A C T: In textile factories it is actual to make use of bobbins, which are available in different sizes and shapes, viz. as cylindrical or conical bobbins. The relevant bobbin holders will not normally be usuable with such different types of bobbins, i.e. the holders are bound to receive only one of the types. Adjustable holders have been suggested, but such holders are not attractive when they have to be preadjusted before the mounting of another type of bobbin. The invention provides for a self-adjustable bobbin holder, which is able to receive and hold both types of bobbins (56, 60) merely by their insertion onto the holder, this being obtained by means of resilient holding fingers (28, 54) arranged for mutually independent operational engagement with the inside of the respective bobbin core tubes adjacent both a front and a rear end portion of a central shaft (12) of the bobbin holder.
