CA 2028862

(57) Abstract In order to protect in particular electronic circuits from overheating, current or voltage surges, and transients, a fuse is proposed which includes a fuse wire (7) be- tween two connecting wires (8a, 8c), conveniently in the form of resistance wires, on a ruse body (1). The fuse wire (7) is routed over several partitions (5a, 5b, 5c), advanta- geously three of different heights, and through two openings (6a, 6c) in the central zone (1b) of the fuse body, to connector points (3a, 3c) where it is connected to the re- sistance wires (8a, 8c). The fuse provides protection simultaneously against voltage and current overloads, transients and thermal overloads, and can readily be incorpo- rated in any circuit since it is about the size of a resistor.
